On January 28, StyleWeek Northeast turned “Red on the Runway” as heart disease survivors and advocates took to the stage at the Providence Biltmore to support the American Heart Association. Three of the advocate-models were Lifespan clinicians.
Rhode Island Hospital clinical manager Lisa Connelly, MS, RN; Hasbro Children’s Hospital Pediatric Heart Center physician Sara R. Ford, MD; and Cardiovascular Institute physician Michael Gilson, MD modeled one-of-a-kind red styles created especially for them by expert fashion designers. Connelly wore an original dress by designer Susan Troy. Ford wore a red dress design by Tess Johnson. Designer Marc Allen created Gilson’s runway look.
According to the StyleWeek Northeast website where the organization’s president and founder Rosanna Ortiz Sinel is quoted, “StyleWeek Northeast was created to provide emerging designers a platform to showcase their debut collections to the region.” Every year, for one evening of the weeklong fashion event, the focus is on supporting the efforts of the American Heart Association.
Congratulations to Lifespan’s top models. You looked fabulous!
