The Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) and Lifespan are proud sponsors of American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women events in the region, including February’s National Wear Red Day and the Southern New England Go Red for Women Luncheon.
The Go Red for Women campaign is focused on empowering women with knowledge and tools to take charge of their heart health.
Heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of death in American women, claiming more than 400,000 lives each year.
“The American Heart Association is a critical partner in CVI’s mission, whether it is championing breakthroughs in research, advancing treatment and prevention, or promoting public awareness about heart disease,” explained Samuel C. Dudley, MD, PhD, Cardiovascular Institute chief of cardiology. “Naturally, the CVI team and caregivers across Lifespan hospitals are proud to support AHA’s efforts in our community.”
The Cardiovascular Institute at Rhode Island, The Miriam and Newport hospitals offers patients renowned physicians, highly skilled and experienced nurses, the best and latest technology and an environment that's most conducive to recovery.
